Building a sports betting brand experience for the nation
There’s nothing quite like South Africa’s sports fans – the characters, the colours, the rituals, the camaraderie. Yet, in South Africa’s sports betting arena, everything seems the same – the same offers, products, odds, and experiences.
Recognising this, Mzansibet partnered with Luckybeard to shake up sports betting with the launch of their sportsbook and online betting platform.
Our ambition was not only to build a brand but to build a strong and enduring brand experience – one that differentiates Mzansibet in the market and one that South African sports fans love, identify with, and want to associate with.
We created a brand strategy, positioning, and identity that is locally relevant, lived up to its name, and appeals to all South Africans. To announce the brand to the nation, we conceptualised, filmed and produced a TV commercial featuring typical South African sports fans on a victory parade, and crafted compelling content around this for radio, out of home, digital, and social media as part of a go-to-market campaign.
